Exciting news! The Milan Art Mastery Program starts tomorrow!

Yes, I finally enrolled in the "Mastery Program" of the Milan Art Institute. It is a one-year-long art program. The founder Elli Milan used to teach students on-site in her barn. During the pandemic, Elli offers the program online, so everyone worldwide can participate. There is a fee but no other admission requirements. The enrollment is only quarterly possible.

The program makes three promises during a year:

Each week you'll find videos on their website, and you will draw and paint a lot to learn the skills. Mentors are there to guide and motivate you along the way. The recommended expenditure of time is 20 hours per week.

The program is divided into three sections (each around four months):

  1. drawing and oil painting

  2. mixed media and finding your voice

  3. painting your portfolio (30 pieces) and learn how to sell your art

Going into the program, I have these four goals:

  • strengthening my right brain side

  • letting go / lessen control

  • learning fundamental art skills

  • talk to gallery owners/exhibitors

Selling my art or not: it is well worth the effort if I achieve some of these goals. I plan to keep you up-to-date on how the program works for me and post monthly blog entries about it.
